'Schmidt's Woods' leafs out as a bright red, maturing to a emerald green red. The bright red new growth contrasts nicely older growth. The long strap leaves add extra texture and interest. I am not sure if it is simply a seedling from the woods at one of the Schmidt Nurseries or another strapleaf seedling from Ed Wood,
